   LA RUTA DE LAS ALMAS                                 THE ROAD OF THE SOULS 

Mas informacion sobre el proyecto PROYECTO “LA RUTA DE LAS ALMAS”  La idea comenzó en un viaje al medio oriente, a Jerusalem específicamente. Un viaje, quizás de regreso, a una semilla, a una tierra de cultivo, cultural, espiritual. Empezaron a resurgir ideas, conceptos, que tenían que ver con ese viaje a la inversa, intentando deshacer los hilos para encontrar el punto de partida para re-interpretarlo desde la experiencia personal, recreándolo, desde la música, para plantear otro punto de vista de cómo a través del tiempo los éxodos, las migraciones de los pueblos, también lo han sido de la música.  Imaginar ese viaje, que tal vez comenzó en el medio oriente y fue regando de sonidos y colores gran parte del mediterráneo hasta que llegó a la península Ibérica y en uno de los momentos de esplendor cultural más grandes que ha vivido la humanidad respecto a la convivencia y la integración cultural, creó un patrimonio musical que después llegó a América, justo en el momento de destrucción de esa convivencia (cuando se expulsó a los judíos sefaradíes y a los árabes andalusíes de España) donde encontró el caldo de cultivo para seguir expandiendo la semilla. Allí se mezcló de nuevo, con el patrimonio musical de los africanos subsaharianos que fueron llevados como esclavos y de los indios americanos, dejando la raíz, el origen, en el rico patrimonio de la música latinoamericana, Iberoamericana. “La ruta de las almas”, porque en el alma viaja la lengua común, la de las emociones, independientemente de las creencias, el equipaje espiritual de la humanidad, donde uno lleva su historia emocional, más allá de las palabras, dónde la cultura tiene su razón de nacer. La única manera de que prevalezca una cultura es reconociéndose en las otras, conviviendo, integrándose, aportando riqueza espiritual, respetando y aprendiendo de las otras, sin negarlas. Al final este pequeño mundo en el que vivimos es nuestra casa, la de todos, inmenso, rico, variado, una minúscula gota de agua del universo donde no somos más que eso, partículas que forman el todo que necesita esa diversidad para ser. Conocí a Rali Margalit una gran artista israelí que vive en Jerusalem, con quien compartí experiencia y música y con la que experimenté el primer paso musical de este proyecto que dio como resultado un tema llamado “ÉXODO” donde ella toca el cellhu, una mezcla de cello con un instrumento de la India y On Behalf, percusionista inmenso, toca el Bandir y el Udu.  También mi relación de amistad profunda con Javier Rahim, hermano de origen Palestino, artista y empresario, que vivió en Palestina toda su adolescencia y participa en el proyecto, la gran amistad y el amor que me une a la familia cubana-israelí Levav, Selma, Amnon, Agnes, Nanda y el que viene llegando, residentes en Tel Aviv, responsables directos de ese primer viaje a Israel, que han influido inmensamente en mi visión humanista respecto a la compleja realidad de esa zona del mundo, por quienes conocí a Nitzan Kimchi, ser infinito, con el que tuve la dicha de hacer un viaje al mar muerto y pude conocer a través de su experiencia y de lo que vivimos en esos días en que fui su huésped en Jerusalem, un poco más de ese maravilloso y fascinante mundo. Estos factores, además del encuentro con otros músicos con los que compartí en Israel, como Shulli Oded, quien organizó un encuentro de músicos conmigo, donde conocí a Moisés, israelí de origen Mexicano que vivió en España, Yogev Shitrit y Eran Horowits, fueron la semilla del origen de este proyecto. “ÉXODO” (Pavel Urquiza) De andar por los siglos mi sombra se extravió no pudo seguir tuve que partir sin fin cuidar mi fe guardarla dentro de mi alma hasta morir y sobrevivir esparciéndome al tiempo para no olvidar las palabras sagradas del amor porque yo nací en la memoria del éxodo Soy un judío errante soy cristiano soy musulmán indio americano tibetano gitano yoruba Mi corazón es mi castillo y este mundo es mi casa y mi Dios malditas sean las guerras maldito es el odio maldito el poder del rencor Mi corazón tiene lumbre y cobijo bendito el abrigo bendito el calor Mi corazón tiene lumbre y cobijo bendito el abrazo bendito el amor Obá Ni Ilé Kó Agó Ilé El objetivo es hacer un disco libro que se llame así "La ruta de las almas" (por la paz en el medio oriente). Ahí empezó este viaje, es el lugar donde la convivencia se ha hecho cada vez más difícil por los intereses políticos y religiosos, es la máxima expresión hoy en día de un conflicto humano provocado por las credos y la pertenencia de un territorio, pero donde también, a través de los siglos, la humanidad ha creado grandes cosas a partir de esa convivencia, sobre todo culturalmente. El primer paso es producir un tema compuesto por mí que se llama "Jerusalem", he invitado a Javier Ruibal, amigo, artista grande, andaluz, de Cádiz, conocido por sus aportaciones a la nueva música andalusí y la música mediterránea que además nos abrió el camino para poder contar con la participación especial de David Broza, importante y gran artista Israelí de estos tiempos que nos abrió las puertas de su casa en New York. Fue una experiencia inolvidable.   Colaboran también en la ejecución del tema, músicos como Tareq Abboushi, palestino, un músico muy especial que toca el buzuk y reside en New York, Oad Levi, ¡de lujo! nacido y criado en un Kibutz, de sensibilidad y talento infinitos. Toca la guitarra eléctrica. Además de músicos latinoamericanos de diferentes raíces, suramericanas y afrocaribeñas como Pedrito Martínez, grande, grandísimo, ¡qué maestro! ¡que artista!, ¡que persona!!, Yosvany Terry, mi hermano, uno de mis referentes musicales de todos los tiempos, Manuel Valera, pianista excepcional, Iván Ruiz Machado, otro hermano que toca el bajo en este tema, su vivencia musical, su sensibilidad y su ejecución son inigualables, no podía ser otro, Sofía Rei Koutsovitis, grandísima artista, con una propuesta personal muy sólida e innovadora, Sofía Tosello, artista inmensa, amiga del alma, la fuerza, la interpretación, el tango, la sangre... “JERUSALEM” (Pavel Urquiza) Tengo el corazón dividido en tres mundos mil caminos sonidos que guarda el viento de oraciones y tormentos siglos de amor y conjuros voces del tiempo del tiempo….. del tiempo….. Infinitas palabras resonando en las calles venas y arterias del alma por donde fluye el recuerdo por donde habitan los siglos marcando tus pasos entretejiendo las noches que acunan tus brazos Colores revueltos sabores innombrables aroma sin censo la luz del olvido la fe de tus besos Tengo el corazón dividido infinitos rincones dibujando mañanas venas y arterias del tiempo por donde fluyen las almas río de los lamentos de oraciones y tormentos siglos de amor y conjuros voces del viento del viento….. del viento……… Colores revueltos sabores innombrables aroma sin censo la luz del olvido la fe de tus besos Mi amor es de piedra sobre piedra de media luna hexagonal estrella clavado en la cruz mi amor tu amor es eterno Hay un muro entre tu sueño y el mío lamentando los abrazos que nunca nos dimos……… Se está filmando y se filmará todo el proceso de grabación con entrevistas a los participantes, tomas en exteriores de NYC, Jerusalem, Córdoba, Granada y Madrid, para hacer un video clip de este primer tema y a partir de ahí buscar financiación para completar el proyecto.  David Arenal, alma imprescindible en esta ruta, la visión, sin él no hubiera comenzado, una influencia vital en mi nueva concepción del mundo, por el que me he reconciliado con la idea de la cooperación, en la que siempre he creído y descreído, el afecto profundo y especial, artista rompedor, contestatario y amable, el golpe directo, contundente y demoledor desde la seda más suave, él será el encargado de toda la parte visual con el apoyo de Fernando el “Rayo”, el relámpago y la luz que no pueden faltar. Javier Monteverde, la evidencia de que existe el amor, una gota de agua cristalina en un mar de petróleo, el apacible, la superación constante y la maestría, la perfección del sonido, el sonido en sí, en fin, sin él y sin Niko Domínguez lo que estamos haciendo no tendría sentido porque él es quién está colocando los colores sonoros en el olimpo de la escucha. Wanda Pacheco, imprescindible para todos mis proyectos, la evidencia de que la fe, el abrazo, la fuerza del espíritu, pueden acabar con todo lo que intoxica a este mundo, gran apoyo logístico, ejecutivo y espiritual de lo que hemos hecho hasta ahora. El material servirá también para un making off que junto a un reportaje fotográfico formará parte de la propuesta audiovisual del disco libro. El resultado será una obra, multidisciplinaria, audiovisual, con la colaboración de artistas de diferentes culturas, músicos, cineastas, fotógrafos, diseñadores, etc, que aportarán la esencia de su legado, su visión de la interacción cultural, la huella de cada uno en La ruta de las almas.  Una parte de lo que generen las ventas del proyecto, se donará a alguna organización seria (aún no determinada) que trabaje directamente en la búsqueda de la solución del conflicto entre Israel y Palestina, además de crear las bases a mediano/largo plazo para la creación de una fundación socio multicultural que trabaje las diferencias desde la integración a través del arte y la cultura. More information about the project PROJECT "THE ROAD OF THE SOULS" The idea started in a travel to Middle East, to Jerusalem to be precise. A journey, maybe of returns to a seed, to an earth of crops, a cultural and Spiritual travel. Ideas begin to reappear, concepts that have to do with this travel to the other way round, trying to undo the threads in a way to meet the point of departure, to reinterpret it from the personal experience, to recreate it from the music,  to give another point of view of how through the time, the exodus and the migrations of the people, and also  from the music. To imagine this travel, which maybe began en the Middle East, and was scattering with sounds and colours to a great part of the Iberian Peninsula and in one of those biggest moments of splendour cultural lived by the humanity concerning the coexistence and the cultural integration, setting up a musical patrimony, which finally arrives to America. But in the exact moment of the destruction of this coexistence, (when the Sepharade Jews and the Andalous Arabs were expulsed from Spain) it is where it found the culture medium to continue to expend the seed. There, it merged once again with the African musical patrimony. Those Africans who were deported as slaves and this of the American Indians, leaving the roots and the origin in the rich patrimony of the Latin American and Spanish-American music. The road of the souls, because in the soul travels the commune language, the one of the emotions, independent of the beliefs: the spiritual baggage of the human kind, where one brings his emotional history, where the culture has his reason to be born. The only way for a culture to prevail is to see itself in the others, to coexist, to integrate itself, bringing spiritual richness, with respect and learning from the others, without denying them. At the end, this small world in which we are living is our house, the one of all of us, huge and rich, different, a very small drop of water from the universe where we are not more than that, particles which are making the whole that needs this diversity to be. I knew Rali Margalit, a great Israeli artist who lives in Jerusalem and with whom I shared experience and music, first musical steps of this project with the result of a theme named EXODO where she plays the celhu, a mix of violoncello with an Indian instrument, and On Behalf, huge percussionist playing the Bandir and the Udu. Also my profound friendship with Javier Rahim, brother of Palestinian origin, artist and businessman who lived in Palestine when he was a teenager and who participates in the project. The great friendship and the love which unit me to the Cuban Israeli family Levav, Selma, Amnon, Agnes, Nanda and the one who is coming, they are living in Tel Aviv  and are the direct responsible of this first travel to Israel, and their great influence on my humanist vision in respect of the complex reality of this area of the world. Because of them I knew Nitzan Kimchi, a human being infinite, with whom I had the pleasure to make a trip to the Dead Sea and could discover, through his experiences and what we lived during those days while I was his guest in Jerusalem, a little bit more of this marvellous and fascinating world. All those factors, as well as the meetings with others musicians in Israel, as Shulli Oded, who organized them, where I knew Moises, Israeli from Mexican Origin who has lived in Spain, Yogev Shitrit and Eran Horowits, were the seed at the origin of this project. “EXODO” (Pavel Urkiza) Going through the centuries My shadow lost its way I could not follow I had to go without end taking care of my faith keeping it inside my soul till to die and survive spreading me to the time for not forgetting the sacred words of love because I was born in the memory of the exodo I am an errant Jew I am Christian I am Muslim American Indian Gypsy Yoruba My heart is my castle and this world is my house and my God damned are the wars damned is the hate damned the power of the resentment My heart has light and shelter blessed the shelter blessed the heat My heart has light and shelter blessed the embrace blessed the love Obà Ni llé Kó Agó llé The objective is to realize a book with its compact disc named THE ROAD OF THE SOULS (for the peace in the Middle East). There begins the travel, in a place where coexistence is every time more difficult because of the political and religious interests, it is today, the maximum expression of a human conflict provoked by the creeds and the ownership to a territory, but also where through the centuries the humanity has created great things because of this coexistence, particularly cultural. The first step is to produce a theme composed by myself, named JERUSALEM. I invited Javier Ruibal, a friend and great artist from Andalusia, Cadiz, well known for his contributions to the new Andalous and Mediterranean music, who helped us to open the way to the special participation of David Broza, a very important and great artist Israeli who opened for us the doors of his house in New York. It was an unforgettable experience. I had also the collaboration in the execution of the theme, musicians like Tareq Abboushi, from Palestine, a very special musician who plays the Buzuk and lives in New York, Oad Levi, a real luxe, born and brought up in a Kibbutz, with an infinite sensibility and talent. He plays the electric guitar. As well as Latin Americans musicians from different roots, South America and Afro Caraibenians as Pedrito, Martinez, great greatest Maestro! What an artist and a person! Yosvany Terry, my brother, one of my musical references of all the times. Manuel Valera exceptional pianist, Ivan Ruiz Machado, another brother who plays the bass in this theme, his musical experience, his sensibility and his execution are unequalled, it could not be somebody else, Sofia Rei Koutsovitis, a very great artist, with a personal and innovative as well as solid proposition, Sofia Tosello, huge artist, friend of soul, of the strong ness and interpretation, the tango, the blood... “JERUSALEM” (Pavel Urquiza) I have the heart divided in three worlds thousands ways sounds that the wind keeps of orations and torments centuries of love and exorcises voices of the time of the time... We are filming and we shall continue to film all the process of recording with interviews to the participants, shoots in exteriors from New York, Jerusalem, Cordoba, Granada and Madrid, to realise a video clip of this first theme and from there, look after finances to complete the project. David Arenal, the essential soul of this road, the vision which without him would had never started. He had a vital influence in my new conception of the world, which made my reconciliation with the idea of the cooperation in which I always have believed and disbelieved, my profound and very special affection for this breaking contesting and amiable artist with direct strikes, convincing and demolishing from the more smooth silk, will be in charge of all the visual part with the help of Fernando el Rayo, the flash and the light that cannot be missing. Javier Monteverde, the evidence that the love exists, a drop of crystalline water in a sea of petrol, the mild, the constant self-improvement and the skills, the perfection of the sound, the sound itself.   I must say that without him and Niko Dominguez, what we are doing will not have any sense, because it is him who is putting the sounding colours in the elite of the listening. Wanda Pacheco, essential for all my projects, the evidence that  faith,  embrace, the strong ness of the spirit, can terminate with all the things that are intoxicating this world, her great logistic help, executive and spiritual of what we have done until now. The material will also serve for a making off with a photographic article which will be part of the audiovisual proposition of the book with the compact disc. The result will be a work, multidiscipline, audiovisual with the collaboration of artists from different cultures, musicians, film makers, photographers, designers, etc who are bringing the essential of their legacy, their vision of the cultural interaction, the trace of each of them in THE ROAD OF THE SOULS. A part of the benefits will be given to a serious organization (not yet determined), which directly works to the research of a solution to the conflict between Israel and Palestine, in addition to the creation of basis, at middle or long terms, for a foundation socio multicultural working on the differences from the integration through art and culture.  Without more and open to any suggestion and donation: Pavel Urkiza
