A Europa.

Back to the Road, following "el perdigoneo"

I have a great friend, Argentinean, Tucumano, who, for as strong as the life is beating him, his face  never shows any trace of contrariety. His smile is so large that it is enlightening. Marcelo has a philosophy of the life, which he names EL PERDIGONEO. It consists, metaphorically talking, in shooting with pellets at all the possibilities, at least one will fall.
I consider myself as a – perdigoneante – of the music; it is evident that I practice this art.

My pellets are the different projects coming one after another, sometimes together; some will bring   a possibility: The possibility to follow an independent way, beyond the musical industry, beyond the borders that impose politics and the commerce of the music. From the point of view of the marketing and the mainstream, this is nonsense, clear, they are using conditions and a certain type of social psychology, but obviate the true essence of the creation, which does not respond to economic interests.
At the end, I believe, like Alessandro Baricco in his book – Next – that the globalization will not be able to terminate with the diversity and less with the richest cultures coming from it. The necessity
prevents the STOP and the profound desire creates the possibility, this utopia that I wish to transform in flesh of oak to build the house of my hopes. As Marcelo, I am like one of the characters of Hector Zumbado (great writer and humorist from Cuba) in his book – Esto le Zumba -
a born optimist who wanted :
- Take all the sun in excess: The one of the sunny sidewalk, where nobody is walking, the one of midday which puts in fire the traffic barriers, or the one which falls with heaviness on plots of the cost, warming up the dandelion. All of this sun, and send it elsewhere, to Europe, in winter, which is when the sun is lost and that nobody ties with it... put it in tin with a label: Tropical sunshine... a daily Gardel, who has a tremendous faith in the dice... believing in the possibilities, even if they are in the back of Rosinante... even if your team has lost three runs, the ninth inning, nobody in base with two outs, getting dark and raining, you say – Now you will see how we will tie! –

For this necessity, came up THE ROAD OF THE SOULS, and to be able to sustain this caravan : MOMENTO.
We have been forgetting a bit the blog: circumstances of the life, but the project did not stop. Taking advantages of my journey to La Isla del Encanto, we followed a path during two significant days.
The first one in Pascual Flores’s house, a wisdom man, Babalawo, a day of Bomba, branch of the Boricua music, very important, with him was Amaury SantiagoAlbizu (Beto), Liz Saira Diaz, Marien Torres, Joanny Parxot and a lot of lovely people helping. The second day with the Maestro Ricardo Pons, in his studio of San Juan, recording metals with Victor Vasquez and Hector Lopez, in addition to the drums with the great Tito Matos and Joksan Ramos, an other branch of the rich tradition of the island, very connected in its origin to the music of the Middle East. In the realization of the video, with the supervision and direction from the distance of my dear David Arenal, and the esteemed tribute of Jorge Ramirez and Enrique Kike Ochanlá.  And for sure, the essential Wanda Pacheco, her great help in the logistic coordination. Without her nothing would have been possible. You will find some photographs to give you a little bit of the flavours that Borinquen brought to the seasoning of THE ROAD OF THE SOULS

Hugs !

 Gracias infinitamente.

Abrazo inmenso.

The Road is going to the Caribbean....

Today, 7th May, when this post will be on line, I will be flying to Puerto Rico to make some presentations as well as a jump to San Francisco, because on the 25th, I will offer a concert organized by La Bohemia S.F in the Brava Theatre Centre, in which I will have the huge privilege to play with John Santos, great artist and brother.

During this opportunity, The Road will go through the tracks of the Boricua Caribbean, with the collaboration of great friends of this earth so rich in traditions and connected with those rivers which are coming from the Middle East, the Mediterranean countries and the Africa sub-Saharian
In the musical part, Ricardo Pons, greatest Maestro, with who I made the work BUSCANDO LA ESQUINA, Giselle Solis, guitarist and composer to whom I musically produce her first album.
Pascual Flores, spiritual master, great connoisseur of the Bomba from Puerto Rico and in the visual part Loredana Hernandez and Oshanka Asere.  All that with the help of Wanda Pacheco and the supervision Skypeana of my dearest David Arenal, visual director of this project.

With the intention to find sources of financiering to continue the way, on the 26,27 and 28th of March 2012 I recorded in Cezanne Producciones with Javier Monteverde, an album in direct with my 14 songs entitled MOMENTO. David filmed all the themes with three cameras with the intention to have it very soon edited in one CD with the DVD taking the risk of the moment, the unique value of the unrepeatable. I believe that it is a small document of what I am here and now, with the imperfections and the virtues implicated.
I hope you will like it and you can obtain it online or during the concerts, in this way you will help us to continue on THE ROAD OF THE SOULS.
Here you will find a little sample of this MOMENTO.

Thanks infinitely.
Huge Hugs !
